A bright and blustery Bank Holiday Monday saw the fourth Millennium Trophy event at Peatmoor Lagoon, Swindon. Attendance was disappointing with several teams dropping out due to transport difficulties but the six teams that did take part saw some good catches.
The whole match was watched by Essex VanDen Eyne star Ian Didcote, a previous captain of the Three Counties Junior AA who also fish under the Peatmoor banner. Ian later presented the prizes and trophies and posed for photographs with the young anglers. His attendance was much appreciated and it is good to see that he feels it important to put something back into the sport, if only other "stars" would follow his lead.
The results were headed by three excellent catches, John Gaylard of Peatmoor followed up his Browning Junior Masters win at Docklow with a fine individual performance landing 17-2-0 of bream on the feeder with worm and caster. Runner-up on the day, also on the feeder, was Mark Kimber of Peatmoor with 13-7-0, including a bream of 4-6-8. Third place went to Peatmoor again with young Ed Bryant landing 10-10-0, Ed also lost two large fish one a tench and the other a bream which may have cost him individual victory.
Team wise Peatmoor A retained the Millennium Trophy with a seven point margin over Reading who beat Liden into third spot on weight countback.

Essex VDE star Ian Didcote presents the individual winner, John Gaylard of Peatmoor with his trophy at the Millennium Trophy team competition on Bank Holiday Monday 2003.
2004
A warm but wet Bank Holiday Monday morning greeted the eight teams for the Millennium Trophy at Peatmoor Lagoon. The cold water entering the lake overnight made conditions hard for some competitors but there were still some good weights recorded.
Individual winner for the second year on the trot was Peatmoor Red's John Gaylard with 24lb 2oz of bream taken on the feeder and waggler. Runner-up in the individual stakes was Glen Picton also of Peatmoor Red who had tench and bream for 21lb 3oz. Third on the day was Karl Bigg of Newton Abbott A with a mixed bag of 18Lb 4oz that included a nice crucian.
The team event saw Peatmoor Red beat off a determined challenge from Reading Hawks with Newton Abbott B taking third ahead of their A team in fourth.

The sixth running of this competition saw 13 teams of 4 compete on a bright and blustery May Bank Holiday Monday at Peatmoor Lagoon, Swindon. The waters prolific bream and roach shoals were conspicuous by their absence after a week of bumper catches but even so some fair weights were recorded.
Individually the day belonged to Luke Hancock of Mosella Farnborough Blue, who managed to tempt some of the lake’s bream on pole and maggot for 15-3-0 which held off the next peg challenge from Karl Brigg of Newton Abbott Fishing Association A who also fished with pole and maggot to take the same number of bream but a slightly smaller stamp to finish with 13-8-0. Third spot went to Tom Burnel of Wakefield with a pole and worm catch of skimmers for 11-10-0.
Team honours went to Mosella Farnborough with their Yellow team taking top spot followed by their Blue team in second. The long journey from Newton Abbott did not seem so bad on the return with third spot under their belts for NAFA A Team.

A grey and blustery May day saw 11 teams take part in the Millennium Trophy. The teams from Newton Abbot and Harleston & Wortwell endured long journeys to take part and their attendance was much appreciated.
The lake fished patchily but there were a string of double figure weights and some quality fish were landed. Not the biggest but surely the most talked about was the 2-9-0 crucian carp taken by Duncan field of Evesham Youth.
Individually the match was won by Sam Stubbington of Farnborough Gold who feeder fished close to the main island for a 15 bream bag weighing 27-5-0. Close behind was Liam O'Brien of Peatmoor Red with a bag of tench and bream for 21-0-0 but was left ruing losing a large bream and carp in the reed fringed peg 1. Third on the day with another mixed net was Phil Cawley of Farnborough Yellow.

A wet and blustery May Day saw 12 teams take part in the Millennium Trophy. The heavy drizzle at the start of the day finally gave way with about an hour or so to go and the sun at last put in an appearance! The match also featured an all girl team for the first time.
The lake fished patchily with the fish still spawning but there were a string of double figure weights and some quality fish were landed.
Overall Farnborough Yellow won the day with North Oxford as runners-up.
Individually the day belonged to Jake Mzarhsll of Farnborough Blue who feedered his way to 34-9-0 from peg 27, second was Robbie Williams from Farnborough Gold with 24-8-0 of tench and bream and receiving the biggest cheer of the day in third with 23-11-0 from Farnborough Girls was Kayleigh Williams.

The traditional rain greeted the 9 teams taking part on May Day at Peatmoor Lagoon. Fortunately as the match progressed the sun came out and made for pleasant conditions, however the heavy overnight rain had already done the damage and fishing was very much below par.The day belonged to Farnborough Pink who were 1 point short of a perfect score on the day

A period of warm sunny weather was replaced by a cold night and day for the 2009 Millennium Trophy. The lake did not give of its best with the roach shoals preoccupied with spawning and the bream slow to feed following the weather. Farnborough again retained the title, taking all three top slots.
